Are You Struggling to Organize Your Business?

Do you have piles of business cards and paperwork cluttering your desk, waiting on you to have a spare moment to deal with it? Do you find that, despite your best efforts, there are tasks on your to-do list that you just can’t ever seem to get to? You aren’t alone. Being the Everything CEO of your small business is tough. The daily hustle to get things done is constantly interfering with the ability to be visionary or strategic and makes business owners feel bogged down and frustrated.

What’s a small business owner to do when it comes to finally getting organized?

Get Automated

The good thing about the 21st century is that people are creating new tools to automate tasks ALL THE TIME. Why? Because once an automated tool is set up, it does what needs doing in the background without taking any time or energy away from your day.

If you aren’t sure where to start when it comes to automating some of your tasks, ask around. Many of your fellow business owners are already using automated tools for their follow-up, email marketing, social media, and more!

Do It, Delegate It or Dump It

As my good friend, productivity coach Julie Miller Davis, would say, “Do It. Delegate It. Or Dump It.” Take a good look at your task list right now and ask yourself some hard questions:

Does this really need to get done?

Does it really need to get done by me?

If it’s important, schedule time to get it done and make take that appointment with yourself seriously. If it’s something that you need done, but could easily be done by someone other than yourself, delegate the work to someone else. If you are hesitating about the task because it’s a nice idea but it doesn’t align with what you are trying to accomplish right now – dump it. If it’s truly important, you’ll come back around to it later – when you have more time.

Give yourself the gift of time and space by giving yourself permission to not have to do it all.

Time to Outsource

Is organization not your thing? We get it. It’s hard to be a small business owner AND stay organized because after all you have SO MANY GREAT IDEAS! Do yourself a favor for 2021 and hire someone to assist in organizing your business because guess what? YOU DESERVE IT!

Imagine all the additional work you could do – in your genius zone – if you could just take a few things off your plate that you aren’t an expert at and that are best described as the time sucks of your work week. Assist for the Win is here to help you let go, so you can get organized and move into next year with vision and strategy.
