I’ve heard it said that if you’re not doing business online, you’re not doing business at all. In today’s world, nothing could be truer. Before anyone does business with you – before they make a purchase, or schedule a consultation, or even send an email – do you know what they do? They look for you online.
Having a website isn’t enough. Potential customers want to see you on social media. Today’s generation expects you to be on Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat.
So why are so many small business owners still neglecting it? Sure, running a business is hard work and you have a lot to do, but shouldn’t bringing in new clients be one of your top priorities?

Take Facebook, for example. The minimum cost for running an ad is $7/day. That means that you could run an ad for five days straight and it would only cost $35. Can you say the same for television, radio, or even the local newspaper?

If you haven’t heard of social proof, now’s the time to learn. It’s real, and it’s powerful.
Social proof essentially means that people look to other people to show them what to do. In your case, that means doing business with you.
When an online audience sees that other people are following you on social media, that they’re sharing your content, or that they’re commenting on your posts, they’ll want to do the same.
You know what they say. The best place to hide a dead body is page two of Google search results.
NO ONE looks beyond the first page. Why? We all naturally assume that the very best, the most relevant, content is going to show up on page one.
That’s why you need to be there.
Luckily, being active on social media can help you achieve those page one dreams. Sharing content regularly is a vital factor in search engine rankings – and even more so if that content is getting shared by and linked to by others.

Today’s audience wants to feel a connection with a brand. It’s no longer enough to offer a quality product or service – they want a relationship.
